Agüerito is a community located in more than 3,000 hectares of land in San Pedro which was born in 1992 from the acquisition by the Paraguayan State in order to resettle families in the area of Concepción.

To survive in such an isolated place -about 70 km from Santa Rosa del Aguaray-, these families have adopted a community system and continue working as an association until today. The extensive property was planned for the new community by giving 10 hectares to each family, setting aside an important area as an ecological reserve and another one as a communal plot for agricultural production.

The FIDEI supported the Central Committee of Producers in growing maízzafriña on 100 hectares and sesame seeds on 70 hectares of the communal plot; including also another 50 hectares of producers of individual plots, members of the Committee, complementing the support received by the Technical Planning Secretariat (STP, for its acronym in Spanish) and the “Sembrando Oportunidades” program.
